Our Apple Tart
225g / 8oz Odlums Cream Plain Flour
125g / 4oz Margarine
1/4 pint / 150ml Cold Water (approx.)
4 Large Cooking Apples (peeled, cored and sliced)
Sugar to sweeten apples
Flour for dusting

Top Tip…
Always sieve your flour before cooking and baking for best results.

To Make
Preheat oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas 6. Use an ovenproof plate.
Sieve flour into a bowl, coarsely rub in margarine and add sufficient water to make a soft dough.
Turn onto lightly floured surface, knead lightly and divide in two.
Roll out half the pastry to the shape of the plate. Arrange apples on the pastry and sprinkle with sugar.
Dampen edge of the pastry with cold water (to seal later).
Roll remaining pastry to cover apples and press gently to seal edges of tart.
Pierce top of pastry to allow steam to escape.
Bake for approx. 35 min until golden brown.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or a dollop of freshly whipped cream.
